The Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners (RSAT) Formula Grant Program assists states and units of local governments develop, implement, and improve residential substance abuse treatment programs in state and local correctional and detention facilities. It also helps them create and maintain community-based aftercare services for probationers and parolees.
Justice Programs applies for and administers RSAT funds on behalf of the state; total funding awarded to Wisconsin is based on a federal formula. RSAT funds are awarded to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and a portion of the state's total allocation must be awarded to local correctional or detention facilities.
